Even in a city as yoga-crazy Vancouver, facial yoga might sound like a hoax. But the results Northwestern University have recently uncovered would say otherwise.
The American university led a controlled trial to test whether facial exercise can actually reduce the signs of aging. In the study, 27 middle aged women were trained to do 32 facial exercises every day for 20 weeks. Blinded investigators — completely censored from the study details — were then asked to compare before and after images.
These medical professionals estimated, on average, that the participants appeared three years younger following regular facial exercise. Interested in adding this to your morning yoga routine?
The results of this study show just how important it is to follow a combination treatment plan, and consider how all facets of your day-to-day lifestyle that could be impacting your appearance and aesthetic.
