### It isn’t widely known that Botox was discovered by one of our very own.

Back in the 1980s Dr. Carruthers put two and two together, when she used botulinum toxin A to treat a patient for eye spasms and recognized the aesthetic outcomes. Fast-forward thirty years, and Botox has become one of the most common beauty procedures performed today.

We’ve always considered Dr. Carruthers a true pioneer in our field — and we aren’t alone. A few weeks ago, she was featured on popular podcast *Breaking Beauty *to talk about her discovery of Botox and today’s beauty standards.
