All Season Beautiful

Gone are the days of mild west coast winters. The harsh weather and chilling temperature changes can take a serious toll on your skin.

Luckily, that doesn’t mean you have to live with dry skin, irritation or visible redness. Here are a few tips from our team to help keep your skin glowing and healthy throughout the coldest months:

  1. Moisturize even more than you thought you should.
It comes as no great surprise that dryness from the cold weather has the greatest impact on our skin in the winter. While a proper moisturizer should be a staple in your routine year-round, it’s particularly important as the thermostat drops and with it, humidity levels plummet.

    • Our top picks: Dermal Repair and Triple Lipid. Want to super charge your winter skin care regime? Try HA5

  2. Exfoliate.
Your skin is already sensitive come winter, so you need to treat it with some TLC — but that doesn’t mean you should skip exfoliating. It’s especially important to remove dead skin cells in the winter to rid yourself of dry, chapped skin and encourage new skin to take its place.

    • Our top pick: AHA/BHA Cleanser
  3. Swap out your cleanser for something seasonal.
Consider your skin under particular distress this season, and switch any highly acidic cleanser for something more moisturizing.

    • Our top pick: A product like Gentle Cleanser by SkinCeuticals can give you the benefits of a regular cleanser without putting your skin through any added duress.

There are all kinds of ways you can protect your skin through the winter — from drinking more water, to covering up with gloves and scarves outdoors — but it’s important to remember that your skincare regimen needs to adjust for the shift in weather. And remember, broad spectrum sun protection should be used year round. Heavier formulations are great in colder months for added moisturization.

Just as your wardrobe changes to protect you from your cold, your routine needs an update to keep your skin looking and feeling its best this season.
